About Kailin Garrity

Singer Songwriter Kailin Garrity

Born in August 1985 in Madison, Connecticut, Kailin Garrity and her four sisters grew up with parents who loved classic rock. At age 12, Kailin saw her favorite singer – Bonnie Raitt – perform on stage. She knew immediately that she wanted to sing and play guitar.

Growing up Kailin was inspired by musicians such as The Beatles, Carly Simon, Sheryl Crow, Bonnie Raitt and Tom Petty. Kailin recorded her first demo CD in 2004 with members from the Marshall Tucker Band at their studio in Spartanburg S.C.

During the summer of 2006 she moved to New York City and worked as an intern, singing on jingles at The Lodge, a music production/mastering company. Kailin quickly formed a band and has been singing and playing her guitar at venues such as The Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall and The Red Lion ever since.

Kailin opened for Michelle Branch in Denver, Colorado in January 2007 and just finished recording an EP produced by Chris Kuffner, bass player for Ingrid Michaelson. Her unique voice and style continues to gain popularity in the metro New York area. In the spring of 2009, Kailin will be on a college tour on the West and East coast!

You can find her music on myspace.com/kailingarrity, CD Baby, and iTunes. Additionally, Kailin’s voice can now be heard on a Walmart commercial airing currently on national television.
